Getting started with Answering AI

Welcome to Answering AI! We're excited to help you set up your new AI phone receptionist. This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of setting up your Answering AI account.

Step 1: Sign Up

Visit our website at https://answering.ai/ and click on the 'Sign Up' button. Enter your email address and create a password. Make sure to use a strong password to ensure the security of your account.

Step 2: Add a Phone Number

Once you're inside the platform, you can add a phone number. Search for available numbers by city. Currently, we support numbers in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Step 3: Customize Your Settings

Next, you'll be able to customize your settings. This includes selecting the language and voice your AI receptionist will use, entering your business name, choosing your business type from a dropdown menu, and typing your call greeting.

Step 4: Set a Goal

Set a goal for your AI receptionist. This could be to take a message or to give information. The goal serves as a general guideline that the AI will follow to guide the conversation.

Step 5: Activate Skills

Activate or deactivate skills for your AI receptionist. Each skill has its own settings and can be set up independently. Skills include providing basic information, taking messages, and sending a webhook after the call.

Step 6: Multi-Language Settings (Premium and Pro plans)

If you need your AI receptionist to interact in multiple languages, you can activate the multi-language settings. You can choose a preferred gender for the assistant and set a greeting that will be said in the first language of the language selection tree. You can also add additional languages from a list of available options.

Step 7: Dashboard Overview

Finally, familiarize yourself with the dashboard. Here, you can view your call logs, set goals, activate or deactivate skills, and edit other settings like your greeting and language for each phone number.
